Who is in the band capra
Obviously, I would love to go and play some shows. I guess, you have to keep yourself busy. For those who are not familiar with Capra , would you mind introducing us how did the band get together?
Originally, we come from South Louisiana. Basically, both our guitarist and drummer Tyler and Dan previously known each other from a long time. Also, they have been playing together for a while.
Then, we added our bass player in the line-up a few years ago. Subsequently, I was the last member to join the band around two years ago. What can you share about its general production? When did you start to collect the first ideas for it? I think that comes through in the hard-hitting aggressive riffs and the relatable and impactful lyrics.
Formed in by Harper and drummer Jeremy Randazzo, who had previously worked together in multiple projects, Harper had just come out of a day stint in rehab and was looking to focus on something new. The initial idea was to create something that would be fresh while still giving listeners a sense of nostalgia for the sounds of the late 90's and early 's hardcore and punk scenes.
After going through a few line-up changes, they ultimately added bassist Ben Paramore and vocalist Crow Lotus, and everything came together. We're all very outspoken on our past struggles and intend to help others that feel like they're in a hole so deep that they can't climb out of it, " Harper asserts. In Transmission is literally the culmination of years of hard work, reflecting everything they have been writing and pouring into the band since solidifying the lineup.
It's the best set of songs we've ever had, and we're all extremely proud of them, and each other, so we hope it sounds like a total passion project - because it is, " says Paramore. I collect vinyl, too. What do you think about how Punk and Metal sound on vinyl, whether old or new? TH: It depends. I think the regular, standard black vinyl sounds better than any kind of colored variant.
I love the sound of a record. It feels like the way that music was intended to be heard. TH: I have a ton. I have every Fugazi album. I have a bunch of Minor Threat. I actually just order a rerelease of Canada Songs from Daughters, out for the first time in 17 years. I have a bunch of Converge. I buy a lot online. This last year has killed me. My latest addiction is guitars.
HMS: Everyone has gone over to online shopping. They are sitting in their cases right now, waiting. TH: We have been in about nine different bands together. We did pretty instrumental music at one point, then in a band called Wildfires, we did music kind of similar to Capra, and we were in a Doom band called Severer.
Jeremy and I are both sober, having struggled with addiction and drinking, and all that. This is our outlet. HMS: You sell a Dune-style band t-shirt.
How much should I read into that? Are you all big sci-fi and fantasy nerds too? TH: We are a bunch of sci-fi and fantasy nerds for sure.
We might have some more sci-fi type designs in the near future. Our Dune shirt does very well. People love it. We just reprinted the orange. The first time we put it up, it sold out. He does all of their own merch designs too. HMS: The images on the new album and merch include a figure who easily could be from fantasy or sci-fi. Can you tell me about that design? TH: The album cover has a girl with aluminum foil wrapped around her eyes.
That was designed by another friend of mine, Ben Fruit. I sent him some music and he sent me that design. It's killing our friends, our families, and destroying our city.
We're sick of it. Tyler has been sober for nearly five years and is grateful for his sobriety every day. Addiction has affected us all and we all want to help those that are still suffering.
If we can use our music and our fans to create an event that helps addicts with nothing to get off the streets and have a safe place to sleep and eat, then that's exactly what we're going to do. The festival we put together will consist of some of our favorite bands in the south Louisiana area that each contain a member that has personally battled addiction and has come out on top. All proceeds will benefit The Journey House — a local sober living house.
The money will help to pay for rent, beds and food for addicts that need help getting back on their feet.
