That will add up over time and make a big difference in your strength and fitness. A yoga block will help with some of the moves, as well as with a few of the stretching routines on the rest day. Finally, I would add a heart rate monitor to the list. You can get these as simple chest straps that can be linked up to your phone. This device will really help to get you into the right intensity level. And, if you monitor your heart rate over time, you should have measurable data about how your fitness levels are improving.

The core idea behind the P90X workout is what Tony calls "muscle confusion. I think I saw in some of the online advertising that 6 feet square is all you need. Some need to be installed by drilling into the door frame, while others do not require hard installation.

The mat will protect your hardwood floors or save your carpeted floors from being soaked with sweat. You can use it before you even start the program to track your resting heart rate.

The P90X program features a wide variety of resistance exercises. Some exercises, like triceps kickbacks, will require light weights; others, like heavy pants, need a lot of resistance.

The P90X Fitness Guide recommends using a range of dumbbells beginning as low as 5 pounds and going as high as 70 pounds. Your exact range will depend on your own physical abilities, though. You won't need the heavier weights if you're physically unable to use them.

The appropriate weight for an exercise will depend on the number of reps you're doing. The P90X Fitness Guide recommends 12 to 15 reps if you want to tone your muscles and 8 to 10 reps if you want to build mass.
