Who is hey arnolds best friend
Here is a ranking of ten of the best minor supporting players the show had to offer. Like many a cartoon before it, Hey Arnold! Her giant size leads the other kids to see her as a hulking brute, and she acts the part. But away from peer expectations, Patty is polite, helpful, and insecure. As the series went on, she also grew close to Rhonda, almost her complete opposite, and even had a sweet little thing with Harold.
Among the better contenders for that title was Rex Smythe-Higgins III, the archetypal pampered rich boy from the upper crust. His grandfather, Old Rex, did him better by one as the archenemy of Grandpa Phil. But Rex the younger did enjoy his own animosity with Arnold, in the early seasons when Arnold was more willing to pick or engage with a fight.
Hey Arnold! This brings authenticity to the young cast, but a drawback is that kids only sound like kids for so long. Sooner or later, voices change, and that can be a challenge when it happens mid-series. In some cases, Bartlett and his team ignored puberty and kept a young cast member in their part see Christopher P.
Walberg as Stinky ; in other cases, they wrote the voice change into the show see Jamil Walker Smith as Gerald. But for Arnold, series star, the choice was made to recast whenever his current voice got too old. Being less extreme than some of the other local adults, Mr. Green could more effectively play the straight man, earning him a long tenure on the show. It probably helped his political career too; besides butchering, he successfully ran for city council in his most prominent appearance.
And unlike other neighborhood residents, Mr. Green had some significant connections to characters besides Arnold. Park didn't come across as a mean person whatsoever, so it would have made sense if they gave these two some time together. Curly and Brainy should have been friends, as they were both extremely strange.
Curly was definitely the louder of the two, but Brainy spent most of his time on the show following Helga around. Curly also was far more rambunctious, but Brainy would have made a strong sidekick for his wacky adventures. It certainly seemed like the show a missed opportunity, as these two together could have been comedy gold.
Ernie and Principal Wartz could have been a good pair. They both were a bit cold, but also rough when they had to be. The two of them did share an interaction together in the school, and it went quite well.
There was certainly potential for these two to have an ongoing storyline together. They were pretty similar in personality and both adults. Having more stories for Principal Wartz outside of school would have been awesome too. Lorenzo's time on the show was short, as he was primarily used in the background and did not have lines after his episode.
This was disappointing, as he was definitely a unique character who slowly learned how to be a true kid. Pairing him up with Sid could have been cool. Although Stinky was Sid's best friend, perhaps his cool personality could have worked well with Lorenzo's uptightness.
Lorenzo seemed to be closest with Arnold, but it would have been nice to see him branch out a bit too. Iggy was deemed as the coolest kid in class until the bunny pajamas incident.
It was a shame that the backlash from this disliked episode resulted in Iggy not being used anymore. It could have been awesome if they linked him up with Gerald. Gerald was definitely one of the coolest kids out of Arnold's friends, so this pair made sense, had it actually occurred.
Now, that wouldn't have meant that Iggy replaced Arnold as Gerard's best friend, of course. He often serves as the voice of reason in the group of fourth-grade friends, and a realistic counterbalance to Arnold's optimistic attitude. This sometimes causes conflict between the two, but never for long. Another facet of Gerald's personality that opposes Arnold's is his weaker sense of morality.
Gerald is far less open to helping others, and almost always attempts to dissuade Arnold from doing so. He's also more likely to doubt people or to spite somebody that he believes has wronged him, such as his brother.
He's also somewhat selfish, seen when he hesitated to tell Jamie O that his girlfriend was manipulating him in order to get benefits from him. Gerald is of African-American heritage, and his most distinct features are his hi-top fade classmate Helga often calls him "Tall Hair Boy" , and his red shirt with the number 33 on it. As a child, his redshirt simply said "3".
He also wears blue jeans and red and white high top sneakers. In The Jungle Movie , he wears a red hooded sweatshirt with the same number on it, and different high top sneakers of the same color with white laces. He resembles his brother Jamie O more closely, as his haircut is now a taller version of Jamie O's, and the shape of his head is now less circular, and more similar to his brother's.
